Ministry & Plans

We were in Texcoco for 6 ½ years, working with the Rolland and JoAnn Smith in a church plant.  Texcoco is a very traditional city that is not open to the gospel.  Family members will pressure people who start to get involved in our church.  We were involved in evangelism, discipleship, counseling, and leadership training.  We praise the Lord for his work in the church there.  It is now an autonomous Mexican church.

We now live in los Heroes Tecamac, where we are starting a new church.  We moved here in 2013.  This city is a new city that is only 20 years old.  People are moving out of Mexico City into this community.  Our church is the in largest housing development in the Americas.  People are moving away from their families into this area, which provides a great opportunity to reach people who will not face as much opposition from their families for attending a Christian church.

We started a community center, Centro de Apoyo Familiar Esperanza (Hope Family Support Center), where we taught English, cooking and crafts, parenting and marriage classes, counseling, and summer kids clubs.  We used that ministry to reach the lost in our community.  We formed Bible studies, and now we have started our church, Iglesia Biblica Dios Es Mi Esperanza (God is My Hope Bible Church).  We hope that within 5 years, we will be able to turn the church over to Mexican leadership.
