Many of you know by now, that EBM, our mission agency, is closing as of September 2nd. Yesterday, they announced that they were closing the doors as they have no funds to continue on as a mission. This news was a shock to us when we heard of it, as well as to everyone else in the mission. We all knew that the mission was in economic problems, but nobody knew how severe those problems were. Please continue to pray for all EBM missionaries as we all have transitions to make, and some may need to return to the U.S. from the field as they lost all of their funds. Several others from the home office will have to look for new jobs. We know that God is in control, and he has a purpose for all of this. In our own family, the biggest thing we are taking from this is to trust in Him more!
There were 4 mission organizations that volunteered to act as an umbrella for EBM missionaries. They are willing to take in missionaries right away without a long application process. Of the four, we have chosen Fellowship International Mission. This is a temporary relationship that could develop into a permanent relationship. We chose FIM mostly for financial reasons, as they offer a healthcare plan, and their overhead fees are not too high. We also received a good recommendation for them. We had never heard of FIM before, so many of you probably have not heard of them either. You can find out more about them at www.fim.org. Over the next few months, we will be looking into our options of joining another mission or staying with FIM.
We will ask you to please resume sending donations to FIM at their website, or by mail, checks can be made payable to Fellowship International Mission, 555 South 24th St., Allentown, PA 18104-6666. For more information on this, please visit their website. Since we no longer have access to any of our funds at EBM, we appreciate the help in making this move in a timely manner.
Thanks and God bless.
At FIM, We are pleased to be able to help out.
