Ministry News
Wow!  It’s hard to believe that it’s already Christmas time again.  Many of us can get so busy serving, buying gifts, visiting friends and relatives, and all of the other things that go along with Christmas that we can forget to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.  This year, let’s remember the true meaning of Christmas, Christ’s birth.Every year we have a Christmas program.  It’s nothing like the Christmas Cantatas in the U.S., but it is our biggest event of the year.  We will be having a children’s nativity (Josh will be Joseph this year and Caleb a shepherd), two short skits, Christmas carols, a dinner, and the gospel.  There will be a lot of unsaved people who would not come to a regular service.Susan will be doing some Women’s Christmas craft events with an evangelistic Bible study.  There will be three of them, Friday the 10th, Saturday the 11th, and Friday the 17th.  This will be another event where women will come when they wouldn’t come to a church service.  They are expecting 40 women in those three events.Salvador preached for the first time to celebrate the church’s anniversary last month.  We praise the Lord for this step.  He did a great job, and will be preaching again in January.  We are planning on him stepping up to preach once a month in 2011.  He is showing a lot of wisdom and growth.

Bryan recently started counseling Gerardo, who works in a school with some members of our church.  Gerardo has had a tough background, most of which he caused.  He has come to know the Lord, and really wants to save his marriage, however, his wife has been set on getting a divorce.  He has been growing, and learning what it means to really love his wife.  She has responded in some areas, and although she’s not ready to say that she’s willing to stay in the marriage, God is working on her.  They are scheduled to sign the divorce papers on Wednesday.

We will be having our first Christian wedding that we’ve had here on December 19th.  It’s exciting to see a young couple trying to do what is right.  December is a big wedding month in Mexico.

With our time here in Texcoco coming to a close in 2011, we are in search of a future ministry.  We have visited with some other EBM missionaries who are getting ready to start a new church plant in Puebla.  Our meetings have gone well, and we will continue to meet with them once a month as we consider the possibility of joining them.

  Mexico News

This Sunday is Virgin of Guadalupe Day.  The other day, I passed a group of bike riders on their way to the Basilica in Mexico City to pay homage to their Virgin.

We experienced our first taste of drug violence a little too closely last month.  A man who had attended our church for several months was found murdered in the streets here in Texcoco.  He had made a profession, but couldn’t get used to a poorer lifestyle, and returned to drugs which ended up killing him.

Family News

Aaron is starting to say quite a few new words, although he still doesn’t say, “Mommy.”  Abby is becoming an artist.  She loves coloring pictures and cutting them out.  Josh is our reader.  On his birthday, we gave him two Left Behind for kids books.  He had them both read by breakfast.  Caleb loves playing games.  Whether it’s video games or board games, he loves them.

Thank you so much for your support of the ministry in Mexico! You are an important part of our team!
Thanks, Bryan, Susan, Josh, Caleb, Abby, and Aaron
