Ministry News We are now back in the U.S., and are getting over the reverse culture shock of being back in the States. It’s hard to believe that our time in Texcoco is done, but we are looking forward to what God has ahead. In Mexico on Mother’s Day, we had a great turnout of over 70! We served a dinner and took family photos, and we had several visitors as well as others who hadn’t been to church in a while. In June, Texcoco Bible Church had a combined service with another church, and 15 people were baptized, 8 of which were from Texcoco. We praise the Lord that the papers were finally signed for the church property! They have been saving for about 6 years and raised a little over $10,000 needed for the property without outside help. They moved out of the building we were renting on June 1st in order to save the $300/month to put toward building supplies. They are temporarily meeting under a tarp at Salvador’s property. As you can imagine, it can be a bit difficult right now during the rainy season! We are hoping to help them by raising $10,000 for the building project. The $10,000 is not enough for the entire project, but it will help them to get enough done to be able to move into the property. So far, we have raised $2400 towards the project. Last week, we helped with a VBS in Maryland, and the kids raised $900 towards the building project! If you would like to help out, click here to find out how. If you are interested in forming/joining a work team to help with the building project, give us a call or send us an email. The church is hoping to begin building by February or March. Now, that we are in the U.S., we have been traveling a lot. We’ve put 6,000 miles on the car already in the last 7 weeks. We have meetings planned every Sunday from the end of June through the end of August, and we will be working to fill our schedule for the rest of the year. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the year, and we are also scheduling new churches as we need to raise about $1,000/month. While in a church in Maryland, the pastor took Bryan to make a visit to a family who had just arrived from Puerto Rico. Although the husband wasn’t ready to make a decision, his wife accepted Christ as her Savior! The church has some Spanish speakers who are following up with discipleship. If you have any Spanish ministry that you would like help with while we are in the U.S., please let us know! Mexico News We flew back to the U.S. this time instead of driving like we normally do because of the problems at the border. EBM now recommends that we fly, and there is another missions agency that now will not allow their missionaries to drive within 200 miles of the U.S. Mexican border. We are thankful that we were able to find a good price for tickets, as well as a good deal on a van to use while here in the US. Family News The kids have been having a great time seeing their grandparents. They are adjusting well. So far they have had several firsts, like camping, kayaking, a baseball game, and EBM family conference. They are enjoying public libraries, fishing with grandparents, and root beer! They are doing amazingly well with all the travel and change! Aaron has never been in a nursery before, and we were a bit concerned how he would react. The first week was a bit rough, but since then, it turns out that he loves going into the nursery. Each week, when we get to the new church, and he gets to the nursery, he runs in, tells us bye, and shuts the door on us. Thank you so much for your support of the ministry in Mexico! You are an important part of our team! |
