Dear Friends, As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to thank you! Thank you so much for all of your prayers. We know you are praying for us, and we really appreciate it! Ministry News Bryan is taking a couple of classes in seminary this fall. He’s been out of school for a while, so it seems like a lot of work! It keeps him very busy. Home assignment is going well. We’ve been able to visit a lot of our supporting churches as well as several new churches. This past week was the first time we didn’t have a meeting in about 2 months. It’s been great to see all of you again, and we look forward to seeing the rest of you soon. Most of our traveling has been somewhat close within a 5 hour radius of Missionary Retreat Fellowship where we are living. The kids have done well with all of the traveling. EBM is in the dissolution process. They aren’t declaring bankruptcy. They are first working through insolvency proceedings to liquidate all assets and pay the creditors in an equitable manner. If all of the creditors agree, then they will not have to declare bankruptcy. The most common question we hear when visiting churches is, “How did this happen?” We don’t know the details about what happened, but we do know that God allowed this to happen, and He is in control. We have so much to be thankful for as we think of our blessings this Thanksgiving. It’s amazing to see God provide. We did have a difficult month in September, but God was faithful as always. He has provided through churches and individuals sending money. He provided Bryan with a part time job with a family who has a painting business. With the mission closing, we also lost $2400 that was raised for the building project. God placed in an individual’s heart to give that $2400 to replace the money that was lost. Our home church paid for Bryan’s classes at seminary. God is good and provides. We trust that he will continue to provide for our needs. We are still in the process of deciding on a new mission. We are narrowing down our options, and will be making a decision on this soon. We really appreciate FIM’s willingness to step up and help during this transition. We will keep you up to date once we make a decision. We’re excited to let everyone know that the church in Texcoco will begin building early this next year! If you would like to contribute to the building project you can send money through our teammates mission. You can go to their website and select special project and type in “063597-Texcoco Building Fund.” You can also send checks to their mission. Their address is CAM International, 8625 La Prada Dr., Dallas, TX 75228. Please send us a note if you do. Thanks. Family News This fall, we’ve had our share of illness. In October, we rushed Susan to the hospital thinking that she had a miscarriage. It wasn’t a miscarriage, however, she was confined to bed rest for a while and then very light activity after that. The baby is doing fine. Bryan got Achilles tendonitis which kept him hobbling around for a few weeks, and it still comes back every once in a while. He also broke a rib at a mission’s conference during a youth activity.(Mission’s conferences are getting a lot rougher on missionaries these days. 🙂 ) So, while Mommy and Daddy were hobbling around, Josh and Caleb stepped up and took care of things. Josh and Caleb are enjoying school. They are also in AWANA when we are in the area on Wednesday nights. Josh is doing well, and Caleb loves it. He’s already finished his book. Josh went deer hunting with Grandpa in Maryland. He had fun being with Grandpa, although he said it is kind of boring sitting there all day without seeing anything. Abby and Aaron got to build a snowman for the first time. We got 10 inches of snow in the end of October. Although we missed it as we were traveling, there were still a few inches on the ground when we got back for the kids to play in. All the kids are looking forward to more snow! We spent Thanksgiving in North Carolina with Bryan’s brothers Jeff and Marc. It was nice to have the entire family(on Bryan’s side) there for Thanksgiving. |
