Happy Mother’s Day! This year, we celebrated Mother’s Day on the same day as the U.S. Here, Mother’s Day is always on May 10th no matter what day of the week. The youth and fathers made a Mother’s Day breakfast for the moms. We praise God for the new visitors who were able to hear the gospel, even though no decisions were made.
Last week, the men and sons (9 in all) went on a men’s camping retreat. It was a great time of fellowship and Bible study. Since our goal is to train the men in leadership, the theme of the retreat was the qualifications of a pastor and deacon. Although they are quite a ways off from becoming leaders, we were able to see some areas where growth is needed.
A few weeks ago, we celebrated children’s day with a day of games, food, and piñatas. There were close to 40 children plus many of their parents. Many of them are not Christians, and it was their first coming to our activities.
People also continue to come for counseling. We are currently counseling 4 families who have now trusted in Christ as their Savior, and they are having victory over their problems. It’s exciting when these people trust in Christ, experience victory, and then invite their friends to come.. We pray that God would now help these new believers to grow in their faith and start to attend church regularly.
In June, we will be having Baptisms again. We have 3 confirmed to be baptized, and there’s also a possibility that we could have 5 or 6 more.
A few things that we hope to improve in the coming months are more commitment to serve from our people, and that those who are getting saved would start coming to church.
