Ministry News

Summer is here already.  We are getting ready for our busiest time of the year.  Starting next week, we will be having 3 weeks of kid’s clubs.  The first two weeks will be soccer and basketball, and the third week is VBS.  We hope that kids will come to know Christ, and their families will start coming to church or the other activities that we offer.

On June 14th, we had 4 people baptized.  We went to a local public pool where we had a service, baptisms, and a family day of swimming, eating, and playing games.  We had some visitors come who although they didn’t get saved, where able to hear the gospel.  We still have a few more to baptize, and we may do that in September.

Last week, a man who is going through family problems came for counseling.  He was able to receive help for his biggest problem, sin.  We praise the Lord that he trusted in Christ as his Savior.  Now, this week, we will start to work on his family issues.   He came as the result of the witness of a family in our church.

In August we will celebrate our first year anniversary of the church.  We’ll be having a special service, and we hope to get new people from our summer clubs to come as well.

In the end of November, we will be returning to the U.S. for a short U.S. assignment.  We look forward to seeing many of you.  Unfortunately, because this is a short one, we won’t be able to see all of you.  We will be returning again for another short U.S. assignment in the fall of 2018, and we will see the rest of you then.  We are doing shorter trips because we do not have any partners in the ministry, and we have to get people to cover for us while we’re gone.  Being gone for a year would be too difficult for our ministry until we have Mexican leadership in the church.

Family News

The kids are about done with school. Yes, they are finishing late this year.  With Susan on bed rest from the pregnancy and her parents coming, they got extra time off during the year.

The kids are growing.  Matthew is learning new things all the time.  He’s a smiley little guy.

Susan returned to the U.S. for almost two weeks in the end of June to help her mom who fell and broke her hip.

Our sending church’s pastor’s wife, Diane Billingsley, had a stroke and has a long road of recovery ahead.  Please pray for her.
