Ministry News

Our time here is winding down as we will be traveling back to the U.S. in November.  We’ll be stopping to visit several supporters on the way up.  Our schedule is pretty full.  Our Sunday’s are filled up, and we only have some midweek services available in January.  Unfortunately, we won’t be able to visit all of our supporting churches on this trip because of the short time we will be in the U.S., but we will contact those churches first for our next trip.

Our kid’s clubs went well this summer.  Our attendance increased from last year.  We saw several kids make decisions during the VBS week.  Kids are already asking when we will have them again.

We continue to counsel several people.  Currently, Bryan is working with five different families.  They have all trusted in Christ and are doing Bible studies, but it’s been hard to get them to come to church. We would really like to get them plugged in with the other believers in the church before we leave.

In September, we took 10 people from our church on a one day mission trip to Coatetelco, Mexico. We left at 3 a.m. and got home at about midnight.  It was a great experience for our people to be involved in ministering to others.  Several people made professions of faith and have been connected with a local church there.

Last weekend, Bryan gave an all day teaching workshop.  Three churches attended the workshop, but the purpose was to prepare our people to teach Sunday school while we are gone.  One of our youth, Margarita, will be doing most of the teaching while we are gone.

Hugo, who has been working with us and is preparing to be a missionary himself in Muslim country, will be taking over for us while we are in the U.S.  This will be a good experience for him as he prepares to be a missionary.

Family News

The kids are back in school.  Josh is in 10th grade now.  We’ll start looking at colleges on this trip back to the U.S. since we won’t be back again until after he graduates from high school.  We also have 7th, 3rd, and 1st graders as well as a 3 yr. old and the baby who is now 10 months old and starting to get into things.

Birthday season is here.  Abby and Caleb celebrated birthdays in September, and this week Aaron celebrates his birthday.  Josh will turn 16 in November.  It’s hard to believe that we have two teenagers!

Last month, we purchased a larger van which will better accommodate our family as well as help in transporting people for ministry.  Please pray for the sale of our old van.  We would like to sell it before we leave for the U.S.
