Ministry News
We praise God for the work He is doing among the people here. Last week, we baptized nine people, and we still have a few more who need to be baptized. Several people have come to trust in Christ recently, and our church is growing, although we did lose one family who left for another church.
Rick, a young man in our church, wanted to get baptized, but his father would not give him permission. He says that we are brainwashing his son. Please pray that God would save Rick’s parents.
On Mother’s Day, we had a breakfast and took family portraits for all of the mothers who came. We had 70-80 people of which over half were visitors come who heard the gospel. One family who came to the Mother’s Day breakfast got saved and were baptized last week.
Our neighbor, Gaby, who is also the first person saved in our ministry has been praying for her husband to get saved for the past 3 years. He had seen the changes in his wife and was happy that his wife was coming, but wasn’t willing to come himself. However, recently, he started coming to church, started counseling, and trusted in Christ as his Savior! He was baptized with his daughter last week.
We are still looking for a new place to meet for our church services. We rented a place near our current house for Mother’s Day. It isn’t ideal for meeting regularly, but it is an option. We asked permission from the local government to rent a gym near us, but they said no. We’re still looking for another property.
We praise the Lord for Luis and Lety. They have been our most faithful family in church. Luis took on more responsibilities when we returned to the U.S. leading the services and continues to do so now. As they grow, we pray that they will remain faithful, as Satan will attack.
Silvia, who wants to be a missionary in Indonesia, started a new English class on Saturdays. The first Saturday, 50 people showed up. The numbers have gone down some since, but they still have a good group. Our prayer is that God will use the classes to develop relationships in order to share the gospel.
Next week, we start 3 weeks of summer kids’ clubs: a week each of soccer, VBS, and basketball. A childhood friend of Bryan’s, Ken Nichols, along with his two daughters, will be coming down to help out with our basketball week. The goal is for people to come to know Christ and to make new contacts with people in the community. We hope to have 40-50 kids each day.

Susan has had some health problems lately. All tests have come back ok, so we’re assuming that it’s stress related. She’s trying to get a little more rest.
The kids are still studying hard. Even though it’s July, they still have a little more left in the school year. Our trip to the U.S. put them behind this year.
