Ministry News
This summer was very busy for us. Our three weeks of Summer kid’s clubs went well. We had between 40-70 kids each day, with our biggest turnout for soccer. We praise God for the turnout, decisions that were made, and new contacts made through the clubs. You can see pictures here.
We’ve had two husbands this year who have fallen into adultery. This is very common here in Mexico, unfortunately. We praise the Lord for the first couple who have been growing a lot since the adultery. They graduated from counseling and are now much more faithful than they ever were before the adultery. The second couple are still in the healing process, as it was just discovered recently. We are working with both of them to restore the marriage and their relationship with God.
In the beginning of September, we went on a retreat with the topic of sexual purity, as it is obviously a needed subject. It was a good weekend, and we pray that we will all stay pure in this area.
In August, Bryan returned to the church in Texcoco where we worked before moving to Heroes to teach the men on how to teach the Bible. Luis, from our church, also went along. It was good to see some old friends and also to train them and Luis. Although Luis has helped some with teaching studies, he will be doing the Sunday teaching for the first time at the end of October.
This Friday, we will be doing a parents school, where Bryan will teach material from the book, Shepherding a Child’s Heart, by Ted Tripp. We hope to get unsaved people who may want to start counseling.
We’ve seen some new families coming this summer. When all of the regulars come, some people have to stand outside until we dismiss the kids to their class. The houses are very small, and we continue to look for a new place to meet, but it is difficult to find a place in our area. A man in the church offered to pay the down payment for a property, but the church doesn’t have enough income to pay the monthly payment. We are still looking for another place to rent at this time.

Susan is doing better physically. Thanks for your prayers.
A few weeks ago, we had to drive to the U.S. border to get the kids’ school books. It was an uneventful trip, and we took a few days off over Mexican Independence day.
When we got back, the kids started school. Josh is in 11th grade, Caleb 8th, Abby 4th, Aaron 2nd, Nathan pre-K, and Matthew is in all of them. 🙂
