Ministry News

We hope you all had a good Easter celebration.  Here in Mexico, it’s vacation time, as schools are closed the week before and after Easter.  The emphasis here isn’t on resurrection Sunday, but rather Good Friday.  We praise God that we have a risen Savior!

We are continuing our leadership training with Salvador and Enrique.  We have been studying attributes of a servant leader, and we are now starting a study on Bible interpretation.  Please pray for Salvador as he has a difficult decision coming up in regards to his job.

Please continue to pray for the marriages.  This is our greatest struggle here.  One man and his wife are barely talking to each other.  They aren’t interested in getting help.  Another couple is getting a divorce.  Another man, who’s wife attends our church, has been cheating on her.  Susan is doing a study with the wife, and Bryan is working with the man, who claims to be a Christian and says he has left the woman, but there is still a doubt as to his sincerity in saving the marriage.

Daniel and Beatriz are a couple who contacted Bryan about marriage counseling through a family member who received marriage counseling a year ago.  We praise the Lord that they both trusted in Christ as their Savior, and although there is still work to do, their marriage does seem to be improving.  The only negative is that they live about 40 minutes from Texcoco, so it will be hard for them to get involved in the church.

The women from our church are going to a women’s conference in Mexico City on April 25th, where they will be learning about unconditional love.  As was mentioned, marriage is our biggest challenge here, and our prayer is that God will use this conference in the lives of our ladies.

For Valentine’s Day, we had a banquet at church.  We had a very good turnout.  Nester, a contact who I mentioned in February, came with his family.  They still aren’t open to the gospel, but they are inquisitive.

We will be having an evangelistic event for Mother’s Day.  This is a special time when visitors may come who otherwise would not consider it.  Everyone is encouraged to bring their unsaved family and friends.

We are planning on returning to the U.S. in the fall for a wedding.  However, we have learned that our support level isn’t very healthy.  The economy has been tough for many, including our support.  We are $1,200/month under supported.  So, we are planning on taking the month of October to visit new churches to raise extra support.  If God puts it on your heart to help with this, we would greatly appreciate it.  You can sign up here to give a one time gift or to become a regular supporter.

Valentine's Banquet

Family News

Aaron is doing better.  He is sleeping through the night now, which is a big praise  He is still allergic to certain foods that Susan eats, so Susan is still being careful of her diet.

Abby is potty training, and growing like a weed.

Josh and Caleb are getting ready to start a new year of school next week.  Josh will be starting 4th grade, and Caleb will be starting 1st grade.

Mexico News

There are still a lot of problems because of drugs in Mexico.  President Obama is here this week to meet with President Calderon to talk about the problems.  Most of the trouble is around the border, so we feel pretty safe here.  We are careful when we go out, however, especially with the kids, since kidnappings are a problem here.

Thank you so much for your support of the ministry in Mexico! You are an important part of our team!
