Dear
Faithful Supporters,
Hello
everyone! Wow! We can’t believe it’s November already! Our time here in
the States has flown by! Since Thanksgiving is coming, we want to focus on
our thankfulness. One thing we are thankful for is you! You are a blessing
to us! Thank you!
In family
news, Caleb had hernia surgery on Monday. We praise the Lord that the
surgery went well and he is doing fine. The hardest part is keeping him
still (any of you who have seen him can understand the difficulty in that!)
We were able to schedule the surgery on very short notice and so that made
it difficult to notify all of you with the exact date, but we thank all of
you who have been praying for his surgery this month.
God is so
good to us in so many little ways. Josh has been waiting and praying for
snow since June when we told him we were coming back to the States this
fall. It’s great to see that God even cares about our little dreams. Josh
saw once again that God answers his prayers! One morning last week when he
woke up there was a good dusting of snow on the ground. He had a great time
trying to make snow angels in the little bit of snow we had. Then, on
Thursday we drove to Massachusetts to visit our cousins for a couple of days
before heading down to a church on Long Island. While we were there, they
got about 5 inches of snow, so Josh really had a good time playing in the
snow with his cousins! Caleb however, has never really been in the cold
before, and really doesn’t like it much! Josh also had his birthday this
week. It’s hard to believe he’s 5 now. Click

We have
been traveling quite a bit in the last couple of months, and have put about
8,000 miles on our new car. We are thankful that the Lord provided us with
a 2002 Explorer to replace our Astro van, which gave us a lot of problems
while we were in Mexico. We are glad to have a reliable vehicle! While in
the U.S., we have been in churches in Indiana, Maryland, Virginia,
Pennsylvania, and New York.
We have
been doing other things in our home area as well. In October, Bryan took an
outreach class at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit. On most
Wednesday nights, we have been able to attend our home church, Mehoopany
Baptist Church, where Bryan taught a condensed version of the evangelism
class.
Our
financial support has increased some since our last prayer update. We now
only lack $310 per month! We also still have a few churches that are
possibilities that we haven’t heard from yet.

Another
request is for a man named Toño. He is a Mexican brother and friend from
the city of Colima, Mexico who was electrocuted by a power line. One of his
legs was amputated, and his other limbs were seriously injured as well. So
far, his medical bills have exceeded $100,000 pesos(which is about $9,000
US). So far, they have managed to collect and pay $25,000 pesos, but it
This will be almost impossible for his wife and children to begin paying.
Please pray for his recovery and the money needed to pay for his medical
treatment.
We have
been busy packing and getting everything ready for our move back to Mexico.
Everything is pretty much ready to go. Now, we are just waiting for our
lawyer in Mexico to finish getting the proper permission for us to take
everything into the country. She assured us that this should be no problem,
which is a big answer to prayer! Barring any other problems, we are still
planning to begin our drive back to Mexico the week of November 28th.
Earl Thompson, from one of our
supporting churches near Pittsburgh, is bringing his trailer and will be
driving with us to take our household furnishings to Mexico.
Praises:
1.
Safety in our travels here in the U.S.
2.
Our increase in promised support.
3.
You who faithfully pray and provide for us!
4. Caleb's successful surgery.
Prayer
Requests:
1.
Safety in travel back to Mexico
2.
Full financial support
3.
Our team (The Smith’s and Cindy Bishop) in Texcoco.
4.
That we receive our permission on time to take our
belongings back to Mexico on the 28th.
5.
Health of Toño and money to pay for his
hospitalization and continuing medical care.
We are so THANKFUL for all of
you, and are so glad to have been able to see so many of you in the last
couple of months. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We
could not be in Mexico without all of you standing with us!
In Christ’s Service,
The Nevin Family
