October, 2003
Dear Faithful Supporters,
Hello from Puebla! We trust you and your
ministries are going well. The
past 6 weeks have been extremely busy for us, as we settle in here, and
we’d like to give you all an update.
We praise the Lord for the
safety in travel back to
Mexico
. The car ran well, and the
boys did pretty well during the 5 day trip.
Thank you for all of your prayers for us that week!
God has also supplied much
of the need for our car repairs. Several
churches and individuals gave special gifts to help with the expenses of
the car problems we had on the way out in July, and almost all of the
expenses have been covered! We
thank you for your gifts and prayers, and we praise God for how He
supplies!
Since we’ve been back,
Susan has been busy with unpacking, organizing, cleaning, and painting.
We feel pretty well settled now, and the projects in the house are
coming along nicely. The boys
are doing well. Caleb
celebrated his first birthday a couple of weeks ago.
He is walking really well now, and is into everything (his toys
float really well in the toilet!). Josh
is excited to have a new pet – a kitten, who somehow found a way through
the brick wall and into our yard (we rescued him just in time from the
dog). So the boys stay pretty
busy, and so does Mom. Josh
is learning some Spanish, and really enjoys playing with the other kids at
church.
Bryan
has translated and adapted an evangelism course to use in the church here.
It is an eight week course which will help the people to develop
evangelistic relationships and a plan in sharing the
gospel. We will be starting
the course in the end of October. He
is now working on developing some evangelistic Bible study materials for
the church to use.
One of our goals for this
year is to start at least ten evangelistic Bible studies.
We have been trying to make some contacts, and will be making many
more through different outreaches.
Bryan
is looking into the possibility of tutoring English courses at one of the
universities here in
Puebla
, with the hope of developing a Bible study out of the class.
He is also playing soccer in some neighborhoods as a way to meet
people, and develop relationships, also with the goal of starting
evangelistic Bible studies and sharing the gospel.
Gabriel and Julie are a couple that we
met at a soccer game. They
are studying English and are interested in some tutoring.
Please pray that the Lord will open up the doors for this.
We are also meeting once a
week with the pastor’s daughter from
Cuernavaca
, who is attending a university here in
Puebla
. She is tutoring us in
Spanish, correcting grammatical errors in
Bryan
’s translation, and answering some of our cultural questions as they
come up.

We arrived safely to
Mexico
.
2.
