We have been encouraged to see God working in Texcoco
this summer. A number of things have happened. Here are a few.
In July, a group from Oregon was here, and they helped do
a Vacation Bible School here in Texcoco. We had over 200 kids come!
Several made professions to trust Christ as their Savior. Now, we are
in follow up. As a church activity, we went to all of the houses of
those kids to thank their parents for sending them, and at the same time
we offered a Bible study. Several people indicated that they would like
a Bible study, and some of those studies are going to be started this
week!
We’ve had some new families coming to our marriage
class. Our neighbors, who first came to see the movie
Fireproof,
have continued attending the married’s class. They haven’t come to
church yet. They are busy every Sunday. We plan on inviting them again
in September for the Independence Day celebration at church. A couple
of new families have also begun to attend church services. One of them
asked if we could begin a Bible study for the women in her family as
well as her neighbors. We hope to begin next week.
Bryan had the privilege of leading Raul to the Lord.
They are currently doing a new believer’s Bible study together. We are
seeing some small growth in him.
Bryan has also been doing some marriage counseling and
evangelism with another couple. They have both made a profession, but
so far there is no fruit. They continue to struggle with their
marriage.
In our last update, we mentioned a man named Odin who is
having marriage problems. He has since left his wife, and is no longer
attending church. We have put him under discipline, and we’re praying
that God will work in his life to bring repentance.
Also, a girl from our church just recently got pregnant
outside of wedlock. This past week in church, she made it public. We
see a real attitude of repentance in her. Please pray for her spiritual
growth through this as well as the salvation of the baby’s father.
Susan is starting a study with her, and Bryan will be meeting with the
father.
In the end of next month, we will be returning to the
U.S. for a short trip. Susan’s brother will be getting married, and we
will be using this time to visit some new churches to try to raise some
additional support, as we are under supported. We praise God for what
he has supplied so far, and we trust that he will supply the rest. We
will be in 5 or 6 new churches this fall.
