This summer has just flown by. It seems like we just returned to Mexico, but it’s been almost 7 months.

Ministry News

This summer, we had a group come down from Portersville Bible Church in Western PA to help out with a Vacation Bible School. They did a great job, and we had around 30 kids come to one club, and 150 to the other club. Some of our youth have started a follow up Kid’s Club on Saturdays, and they are averaging 10-15 kids.

A man named Luis has been coming to church for a while now. He comes in spurts. Before this past month, he hadn’t come for about a year. He has also been bringing some visitors to our church with him. He has heard the gospel, and Bryan has had a good discussion with him about it, but we aren’t sure that he is saved.

Luis has also put us in contact with a couple who are having marriage problems. This couple isn’t saved, and at this point they don’t seem to be open to the gospel. They are, however, open to getting their marriage problems solved. We have met twice so far. In our last meeting, they told us about some friends of theirs that are contemplating divorce, and we may also start counseling them as well.

We have also been counseling a lady and her sister on child rearing. This lady is separated from her husband and having a difficult time raising her daughters. We praise the Lord that she is putting into practice what she is learning. Although it is still a struggle, she is seeing some success. Neither she nor her sister is saved yet.

Terecita, an older lady in our church, is dying of cancer. A few weeks ago, the doctors gave her a few hours to live, which was not true. From what we’ve been told, they just wanted to get her out of the hospital since she is terminally ill. We don’t know how long she has, but it is probably a few months. She needs constant care, and it has been very difficult for the family. Susan was spending several hours a day over there helping, but has stopped now because it’s become too difficult to do that and keep up with school and everything else. We have had opportunities to witness to unsaved family members through this. Even Terecita has been witnessing to everyone from bed. Please pray that God would continue to work in the extended family as well.

We are also excited about developing a friendship with Terecita’s new doctor and his family, who happen to live down the street from us. We are also continuing to work on friendships with our two closest neighbors. They have become very friendly, but are still closed to conversations about God.

Church attendance has been poor lately. We’ve had some young people go away to school, and one girl moved away after just graduating. Two other families have just quit coming to church. They don’t want anything to do with God right now.

This Sunday, we will be having an evangelistic activity at church to celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day. We will be having a dinner and evangelistic message.

Abby's First Birthday

Family News

In family news, we have all been sick with the flu recently, but are getting over it now. Abby turned one last week. She is crawling, standing up, and getting into everything now! She can also say a few words, but sometimes she gets confused and calls the dogs Dada, instead of Bryan! The boys are growing. We praise the Lord that a few weeks ago, Caleb accepted Christ as his Savior! He will turn 5 next week.

In our extended families, Susan’s dad lost his job a few weeks ago, and they have many decisions that need to be made about the future. Also, Bryan’s mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and she will be having surgery later this month.
