The
ministry here in Texcoco has been challenging. We have had a lot of ups
and downs. Church attendance has been down lately, but we have also
seen how God is working. We are glad to know that it is God’s work
here, and He will bring it all about in His timing.
Our
church here in Texcoco was started with a man named Odin. Please pray
for him and his family. Odin and his wife are at the point of
separation. This is affecting the whole family. They were at one point
one of the most faithful in the church. We are trying to restore them,
however, they are currently not interested.
One
of the men that we have been training for leadership, Salvador, had to
quit his job because of a moral issue. We praise God for his integrity,
but his new job causes him to work all day on Saturday and Sunday. He
hopes to quit the weekend part of the job by September, but it all
depends on a settlement that he should be getting from a previous
employer for a lung condition he developed while making laundry
detergent. Please pray that the settlement will go through quickly so
that he can be more active in church. He is anxious to be back in
church.
Now
for the upside. Last month, we asked for prayer for Nester and Nora’s
salvation. We praise God that they accepted Christ as their Savior! We
were studying on depression, which he’s struggled with since being
without a job for over 6 months. We praise God that he now has a job!
But it has been hard to continue studying with them because of his
schedule. Please pray that they will continue to study and come to
church.
On
Friday, June 19th, we showed the movie
Fireproof
at our house. We had over 50 people in attendance!
Most of them were visitors and not saved. Last Friday, we started a
Bible study that accompanies the movie.
This Friday,
we will be having our second study, and this one is an evangelistic
study. Please pray for salvation of the visitors that come.
We
have also started marriage counseling with 2 unsaved couples. Please
pray that God will work in their marriages, and that they will come to
know Christ as their Savior.
Susan has started an English class for kids on Friday afternoons. We
hope that we can develop relationships with people in order to share the
gospel with them.
We
have also been updated on our support level. Because of some gifts that
we have received and an error that was found at the mission, we are now
only about $800/month under supported. Thanks for your gifts we really
appreciate them! We are still trying to schedule new meetings for this
fall.
